My name is Reta Chaffee and I am running for my 5th term on the Goffstown School Board (2025-2028). My first term started in 2013 and I continue to be an active and committed member of the Board.
Each board member also sits on several sub-committees. I have served on the Planning & Communications and Curriculum & Education committees since 2013. I recently joined the Technology committee. In the past I have served on 2 Principal Search committees and the Teacher Contract committee. A little-known fact is that members of both the Goffstown and New Boston School Boards also serve on the SAU #19 School Board which oversees and governs matters of the SAU.
I am running for re-election to the School Board because I am committed to the success of our students, schools, and community. Public education benefits everyone and brings value to our community. Serving on the board requires dedication: attending meetings, analyzing data, listening to diverse perspectives, and making informed, sometimes difficult, decisions. It also means ensuring integrity, accountability, fiscal responsibility, and a positive learning and working environment. With 12 years of experience, I bring institutional knowledge and a strong commitment to the well-being of our schools. I look forward to continuing this important work and ensuring our schools remain a valued and integral part of the Goffstown Community.
